The Almost Wives Club: Kate
Kate has a good heart, she works as fundraiser for an outreach program for girls and is engaged to Ted Camarvon. They plan to wed in three weeks and the majority of the decisions, about the wedding have been made by her mother and future mother in law. Kate has lost weight due to the stress of the wedding and has to get the dress altered to fit correctly. At the fitting, an assistant accidentally bleeds onto the couture gown, is fired from her job, and curses the gown. Next Kate is fired from her job and is left a restaurant by Ted, after which she meets Nick, with whom she has an instant connection. This sequence of events, coupled with Ted poor treatment of his fiance, by allowing his father a private investigator, Nick, to try to seduce her, causes her to call off the wedding. She flees the city and begins a journey to rediscover herself. Kate ends up on the beach, then finds an apartment, a way to bring in cash and is beginning to realize that she is in charge of her destiny. After a few weeks, Nick finds her and they start to slowly work their way towards a happy ending.
